Join Us Live
Join us for a live session with Robert D. Friedman, inventor, entrepreneur, and global leader in nano-based copolymer soil stabilization, as he explores how sustainable road infrastructure can be built using locally available materials, recycled materials, and waste products—without relying on traditional cement- or asphalt-heavy methods.
This webinar will examine how nano-based copolymer technology dramatically improves soil strength, durability, and water resistance while significantly reducing carbon emissions and construction costs. Attendees will gain insight into real-world case studies, independent laboratory testing, and global applications across rural and developing regions.

Description
This webinar is jointly sponsored by NEx: An ACI Center of Excellence for Nonmetallic Building Materials and the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
The global demand for sustainable, resilient, and cost-effective road infrastructure is rapidly increasing. Rural roads represent over 60% of the world’s road network, yet most remain unpaved and poorly maintained, limiting economic development and social equity. Traditional construction methods rely heavily on quarrying, long-distance material transport, and carbon-intensive cement and asphalt systems.
This session will:
Explore sustainability and circularity in modern road construction
Define prevailing alternative technologies for soil stabilization
Examine the importance of soil matrices and configurations
Present independent laboratory tests and global case studies demonstrating:
400%–600% increase in CBR and load-bearing strength
Increased tensile strength of soils
Water-resistant and hydrophobic performance
Non-toxic, non-polluting, non-hazardous materialsDemonstrate how to utilize locally available, recycled, and waste materials
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
Describe nano-based technology for soil stabilization, dust control, and waste encapsulation
Discuss practical applications for stabilized road bases and infrastructure
Understand soil stabilization processes and long-term sustainability benefits
Formulate innovative alternatives to traditional road construction methods
