NEx, an ACI Center of Excellence, is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop during the ACI Fall Concrete Convention* in Atlanta, GA. This  morning workshop session will take place on the final day of the convention, and will be free for those already attending the Convention. NEx workshops are a great way to connect with experts of their field and grow a nonmetallic knowledge base.

Topic: Recent and Upcoming Code Developments for GFRP Reinforcement

Workshop Details:

This workshop will provide an overview of recent and emerging developments in the use of glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforcement in concrete structures. International and North American experts will share perspectives on developments in design guidelines, codes and standards, as well as emerging design approaches and applications for GFRP reinforcement. The workshop will highlight recent advances and ongoing initiatives that may influence the design, detailing, and use of GFRP-reinforced concrete structures.

Learning Objectives:

1. Attendees will be able to explain how product certification through CE marking, combined with the design approach of CNR-DT 203 R1, supports the ongoing industry-led effort to ensure the competitively of composite reinforcement in Europe

2. Identify recent and emerging developments in international guidelines and standards for GFRP-reinforced concrete structures.

3. Describe key proposed changes and developments in ACI 440 and other GFRP-related design provisions.

4. Discuss emerging design approaches and considerations for the use of GFRP reinforcement in structural concrete.

5. Evaluate current and emerging applications of GFRP reinforcement, including considerations for hybrid and seismic structural systems.

*Registration to the ACI Concrete Convention is required to attend the NEx workshop.
