At the ACI 2025 Spring Convention in Toronto, ON, NEx hosted a technical workshop titled "Design of GFRP-Reinforced Slabs-on-Ground and Paving". Among the 11 featured speakers, Boris Caro Vargas, General Manager of North America at Dextra Group, delivered an insightful session titled "GFRP Reinforcement for Slabs, What's Next?"


In his presentation, Boris explored the evolving role of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) in slab applications, emphasizing its potential as a forward-looking solution for sustainable infrastructure. With more than two decades of international experience, he offered a global perspective on implementation trends, design opportunities, and technical challenges.
