NEx Releases Featured Talk by Antonio Nanni: "Investigation on Design Requirements of GFRP Bars for Concrete Slabs in KSA"

At the ACI 2025 Spring Convention in Toronto, ON, NEx organized a workshop on "Design of GFRP-Reinforced Slabs-on-Ground and Paving." Antonio Nanni, one of 11 featured speakers in the series, delivered an in-depth presentation discussing various FRP mesh options, their unique characteristics, and practical applications in both repair and new construction, supported by real-world examples.

Nanni’s research interests include structural performance and field application of construction materials with a focus on sustainability and resilience. During the past 35+ years, Nanni has studied concrete and advanced composite-based systems as the principal investigator on many research grants. Some of the innovative field projects he contributed to have received awards. His research has impacted the work of standard-writing technical committees in the US and abroad. Nanni was served as the 100th ACI President for the term 2023-24. He is a fellow of four technical societies and a registered professional engineer in Italy and four US states.
