NEx and P+Ex Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Advance Nonmetallic Innovation and Concrete Preservation

Farmington Hills, MI — September 12, 2025 – NEx: An ACI Center of Excellence for Nonmetallic Building Materials and P+Ex – Center of Excellence for Concrete Preservation and Service Life Extension have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in advancing sustainable solutions for the built environment.

The agreement formally recognizes P+Ex as an Allied Organization of NEx, creating a pathway for joint initiatives that leverage both organizations’ expertise.

NEx brings global leadership in advancing nonmetallic materials, standards development, research support, and industry education.

P+Ex brings deep expertise in concrete preservation, repair, and extending the service life of structures.

Through this collaboration, the organizations will:

Promote the development and adoption of design codes and specifications for nonmetallics.

Facilitate research and education to improve durability, sustainability, and safety in construction.

Provide resources and training for designers, contractors, and owners to apply innovative materials and preservation techniques effectively.

The MOU was officially signed on September 12, 2025 by Jerzy Z. Zemajtis, Executive Director of NEx, and Peter Emmons, Founding & Board Member of P+Ex.
