NEx Releases Featured Talk by James Loper: "An Overview of Design and Construction Practices for Slabs-on-Ground"

At the ACI 2025 Spring Convention in Toronto, ON, NEx organized a workshop on "Design of GFRP-Reinforced Slabs-on-Ground and Paving." James Loper, one of 11 featured speakers in the series, delivered an in-depth overview of design and construction practices for slabs on ground, drawing from over 30 years of structural engineering experience across commercial, industrial, and government sectors.

James is a licensed Professional Engineer in ten states, with degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Georgia State University. He has led projects ranging from warehouses and food plants to military training facilities and industrial wastewater treatment plants. An active contributor to ACI Committees 302 and 360, he has played a key role in updating chapters of the upcoming ACI 360 publication.
